Instrument Rating

Weather grounds a lot of pilots — but it doesn't have to ground you. An instrument rating allows you to fly legally through clouds, rain, and fog, dramatically expanding where and when you can fly. Rather than watching your plans get cancelled from the ground, instrument-rated pilots can depart with confidence in conditions that would otherwise keep them on the ground. If you hold a private pilot certificate and want the freedom to fly in the clouds, adding an instrument rating is your next step.
